The Apostles' Creed
Modern English Version 

I believe in God, the Father almighty, 
creator of heaven and earth. 

I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, 
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, 
born of the Virgin Mary, 
suffered under Pontius Pilate, 
was crucified, died, and was buried; 
he descended to the dead. 
On the third day he rose again; 
he ascended into heaven, 
he is seated at the right hand of the Father, 
and he will come again to judge the living and the dead. 

I believe in the Holy Spirit, 
the holy catholic church, 
the communion of saints, 
the forgiveness of sins, 
the resurrection of the body, 
and the life everlasting. AMEN.

Note: unless otherwise noted, all verses are from the New International Version (NIV).

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shallnot perish but have eternal life."

Isaiah 40:31 "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; thew will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again: Rejoice!"

Note:
The Apostles' Creed is the best single statement of faith I have ever heard.  I am working on memorizing it, but memorization has never been one of my talents.

One note:  in the final paragraph, notice that it is a lower-case "c" in the word catholic.  This means that it represents the entire body of believers, not the Catholic denomination.

I am a Evangelical Protestant, but I want this site to be completely non-denominational.
